Ella Minnow Pea: A Novel in Letters by Mark Dunn: A Book Review
Genre: Contemporary
Written in a country that prides itself in the alphabet, Ella Minnow Pea details the story of what would happen if letters of the English alphabet were lost. The result, while deep in meaning, is actually quite comical as the characters strive to continue communicating without the banned symbols.
While lighter in nature, Dunn hints at a darker nature that shows the power words, society, and the government have on the world we know. While we have the power to determine the extent of damage they hold, retracting ourselves from the situation can be difficult.
Still, needed something light to read, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and rather easy message.
