Author’s Note:
I am really interested in academic works as well, so occasionally I am going to post a review on an academic book. I will continue to focus on YA and debut authors, but in order to keep with all the reading that I would like to do, academic books will fall in at least once a month starting today.
Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari: A Book Review
Genre: Nonfiction
With all the turmoil in the world, reading Sapiens was almost humorous in refreshing sort of way. Throughout the whole of the work, Harari shows wit in describing the problems that homo sapiens face and views of the world. In being objective, he shows that all of our problems are made by us and depicts reasons why this is the cause.
While there are issues involving the editing process in which the work is full of sentence fragments, in total the work is well-written. It shows not only a liberal point of view, but a conservative look as well to complete the full idea of the progress homo sapiens have made and the progress that they can make. Indorsed by politicians and businessmen alike, this book is a must read.
